Archery is a powerful low-impact practice that can lead to greater mental and physical benefits such as: promoting relaxation and stress relief, improving emotional balance, sharpening concentration and focus, nourishing self-esteem and confidence or strengthening posture and balance.
Since its first appearance 70.000 years ago, from hunting to Olympic sport, archery has universally conveyed core values like courage, patience, determination, focus, groundedness, self-responsibility, decision making, connection with nature or adaptability. Those qualities and values help us manage the complexity of our inner world and the challenges of the outer world.
Many of our internal and psychological conflicts are held in our body. Often the body knows before the mind does. Although talk-psychotherapy is an efficient way to address those conflicts and strengthen our resilience, agency and efficacy, a body-based exploration can allow a more direct route to healing, empowerment and inner balance.
Shouldn’t I be seating to find inner balance? In a paradoxical way, internal stillness can be achieved with the body in movement. And in a more paradoxically way you can do it even without sight. That says it all about the beauty of the quest for inner balance.
Soon we will talk about the peaceful warrior within with Archery for Inner Balance…
